The AACS JV volleyball team had their first varsity contest on Tuesday at Whitmore Lake High School, dropping the contest 3-1. This was the first of four varsity contests, which would make them eligible for the MHSAA district tournament.

The Eagles lost the first set by a score of 5-25, and also lost a closely contested second set by a score of of 25-27. The Eagles then came back and won the third set by a score of 26-24. After taking their first ever varsity set, the Eagles lost the fourth set 16-25, making their record 1-3 on the evening.

"I think the nerves of playing a varsity game got the better of our girls in the first game," Coach Higgins. "We settled in nicely after that and were able to compete the rest of the evening. I am really proud of the way our girls battled back"

The Eagles play again on Thursday 9/5 against Father Gabriel Richard. The game will begin at 5pm.
